A Guide to Handsfree There are two main ways that you can legally go 'handsfree', it is a matter of personal choice. Both options involve installing equipment in your vehicle, this provides a neat and tidy look with all the cables out of view. Most of our systems include connection to your vehicles audio system so, when a call comes in, your stereo will mute and the call will then be heard through your existing vehicle speakers.
The Cradle Option -We will install a handset specific cradle which will be mounted on the dashboard of your vehicle. You simply insert your mobile phone when you get into the vehicle and it will connect to the handsfree system. We also offer "damage free installation" by using a "no holes" mounting platform, this is ideal for new and leased vehicles as if you decide to remove the system to install in another vehicle the dashboard will look untouched.
The Bluetooth Option -The vast majority of mobile phones have bluetooth capability. For those of you that have not used bluetooth before it is an ingenious 'wireless' piece of technology that sends information to and from mobile phones. You simply 'pair' your phone with the device (in this case a handsfree kit) and the two will exchange information.
With this option you can have a number of different types of handsfree kit installed in your vehicle, from a simple answer and end button through to systems that are integrated to your ipod to stream music.
As long as you have your mobile phone with you and the bluetooth function is switched on, as soon as you turn your vehicle ignition on the phone will connect with your handsfree kit. You can leave the phone in your pocket, handbag or briefcase while driving. Some bluetooth kits will have the option of an LCD display which will display things like battery and signal levels and will even hold your mobiles 'phone book'. .
This is a good option for people who change their mobile phone regularly as it is very simple to pair a new phone with the system, this can usually be done in less than a minute. This is also a useful option for vehicles that have multiple users and each new driver can pair their phone with the system as required.
